Final German Championship in CNC Milling 2023

The award ceremony of the German CNC Milling Championship took place on July 21, 2023, in Tuttlingen at Chiron Group SE, organized by WorldSkills Germany.

Following strong results from the previous year, our apprentices Florian Baumert and Georgios Nerantzakis showed great motivation and qualified for the final round after two preliminary competitions, placing them among the top 12 participants nationwide.

The three-day final demanded maximum precision and speed. A new element was the combination of series production and single-part manufacturing, aligning with upcoming international WorldSkills regulations.

Georgios Nerantzakis achieved 8th place with 698 points, narrowly missing a Medallion of Excellence. Florian Baumert secured an excellent 4th place with 710 points. We congratulate both apprentices on their strong performance and commitment.

World Skills 2022

Final German Championship in CNC Milling 2022

The award ceremony of the German CNC Milling Championship took place at Chiron Group SE in Tuttlingen as part of WorldSkills Germany. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the national competition format had to be reorganized for 2022 and was held over several weeks in small groups.

Thirteen finalists competed over three demanding days, completing complex components that had to be designed, programmed, and manufactured with high precision so that all parts fit together as an assembly.

Tom Schmid won the title of German Champion in CNC Milling, outperforming strong competition. Second place went to Krisztian Kalmar (Franz Götte GmbH), while Christian Falch achieved an excellent third place. Another strong result was delivered by Lars Bauer, who finished in 10th place. With these results, HORN was the most successful company at the 2022 championship.

As German Champion, Tom Schmid qualified for the WorldSkills competition. Due to pandemic-related restrictions, the WorldSkills CNC Milling competition was relocated from Shanghai to Leonberg, where it will be held at the DMG MORI Academy. Tom is now preparing intensively for the world championship with the support of WorldSkills Germany.
