Level 2 Trainings:

What to expect:

Horn Academy is designed to improve efficiency at the spindle. No sales pitches, just concise information and hands on instruction. Training sessions are recommended for anyone using HORN tools who want to maximize tool life and minimize cycle time.

  1. Plant tour and introduction to the inside sales / engineering team
  2. Eshop and Catalog navigation
  3. Explanation of the various systems and where to apply
  4. Nomenclature and part numbering system
  5. Cutting parameters and tips for application
  6. Grades and Coating application
  7. Chip breaker options and application
  8. Tool assembly and proper handling
  9. Practical hands on machine demonstrations
  10. Novel application of Horn Tools to solve common problems on the shop floor

General Timing of Events:

Trainings occur on either Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday.

The trainings for static and rotating tools are designed to be independent from each other, attend one or both in the order that best fits your schedule.

Monday / Tuesday Sessions:

  • Sunday:
    • Arrive to Hotel by 6:00 pm
  • Monday:
    • 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
    • 5:00pm to 5:45 pm Plant Tour
    • 5:45 pm-6:45pm Catered Dinner at Horn
  • Tuesday:
    • 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
    • Departure after 3:00 pm

Thursday / Friday Sessions:

  • Wednesday:
    • Arrive to hotel by 6:00 pm
  • Thursday:
    • 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
    • 5:00pm to 5:45 pm Plant Tour
    • 5:45 pm-6:45pm Catered Dinner at Horn
  • Friday:
    • 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
    • Departure after 3:00 PM

 

Costs:

Horn USA will cover the costs for the following:

  • Transportation to and from airport, facility, and dinners
  • Hotel accommodations including Breakfast
  • Meals, snacks, and beverages
